    Some people say it takes months for a life to change, some even say years. I think it only takes a moment. In one moment, a child’s perception of himself, and of the world around him, can change entirely. A child can go from seeing the world as a hostile, dangerous place to a place full of endless exploration and excitement. Or, instead of seeing the people around them as enemies, they can suddenly see them as friends. Most importantly, though, a child’s perception of himself can change. One moment he may view himself as a complete failure and in the next moment something can happen to let him see himself as a winner, an overcomer.

When we began the building of our new school building it was a dream come true, declared Pastor Glenn Garrison, Founding Director of Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch.  Within the week Phase One will be complete and the new cafeteria and kitchen will be finished.  Five thousand square feet of space will be open for use.

Already the children have had fun decorating the space for Christmas.  This will be the first major use of the facility.  The new kitchen is being readied for use, including new stainless steel sinks and counters, it is a wonderful miracle of God’s provision.  By the way, Nancy wanted me to ask any ladies or ladies groups, if you would like to help us further furnish this new commercial kitchen, we need other stainless steel counter space, equipment and shelving, serving trayes, etc.  You can donate online if you like.

The floor includes, a wonderful storage room, three bathrooms and space to handle hundreds of children!

We want to thank all those who have contributed to make this a reality.

The second phase (second floor) will house our new Middle School and High School Facility, along with a computer and science lab, conference room and office space.  Our goal is to have it completed by the start of our 2007 school year.
