Miracle of a Broken Heart
At age 6, June (not her real name) was sent away from her family because they felt they could not deal with her unusual behavior. A Christian couple, needing a girl to watch their new baby invited her to stay with them, giving her a room and even sending her to school. June appeared smart and industrious, and seemed to enjoy her young life. Then one day her life came totally apart. She stopped sleeping and was overwhelmed with daily chores, showing signed of physical and emotional abuse, she became totally uncontrollable. Only fourteen she was broken and the couple decided they could no longer keep her. They had just had another baby of their own and they feared for the baby’s safety. The unthinkable happened; they brought her back to her home community and abandoned her. June could hardly recognize people. She scared everyone by her looks. Two of her aunts brought her to our gate and left her dazed and hungry.
We spent days of struggle, hours of patience loving care, praying all the time. Today, June is a glowing 15 years old, inside and out. She has skin of a porcelain doll and a smile that captivates your heart. She is a pretty young girl with so much to give. She excels in her academic activities and gets along so well with others. She works hard without trouble. She enjoys where she is now.
Recently, she showed off her best talents by dancing and singing which are her loves. She is now the envy of everyone. Only when we trust the Lord and put our hope in Him can we truly see the glory of His miracle.
