Juanita was left to the care of the family of Pastor and his wife at the age of six or seven years old. They brought her back to her family because Juanita was unable to do the household work they required her to do. She appeared catatonic, unable to speak, blink her eyes, and even swallow liquids. The diagnosis of a psychiatrist revealed that Juanita had a mild psychosis disorder. With the grace of God and the dedication of the staff at Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch, Juanita is now studying at Happy Horizons Academy inside the ranch and is doing well.
