And so they sang

Four weeks ago, I asked you to please pray for Lola Nancy – for discernment and an open heart to her staff.

Three weeks ago, when Nancy arrived home, she had a dream. In her dream, the staff and members of the HHCR community were standing together holding hands. They stood in a circle together and were united, but even within that circle of unity, walls were being built up between the members. A small hurt here and the wall grew between two people. An unkind word there and the wall grew more. Lola Nancy watched as the group stood together and held hands, but she felt heartbroken at the walls she could see between the members of our small community.

So, at a loss for what to do to help her people – the community involved in her dream – she did the only thing she knew to do. She sang praises to her God – to their God. But only 3 words would come, and over and over they came: “I love you, I love you, I love you.” As she sang, the HHCR community joined in song with her. They lifted their eyes and their voices to heaven and truly cried out to their God.

As their voices united in song, so their spirits also united. As they sang praises to the God they shared…the walls started to grow weak. As they realized they had more in common than they had realized, the walls started to disappear. As they let God take over in their hearts, the walls melted away and in their place was a unity that only God could create.

Lola Nancy woke up singing the song that had united them all “I love you, I love you, I love you.”
And the next day, Nancy went to the staff singing the song God had given her. In the dream, they had sang it to Jesus – and it united them. Now, she sang it for her staff – “I love you, Sarah.” “I love you, Lorecho.” “I love you, Grace.” She continued to sing it the following days and weeks – through all their tears and hurts and even accusations. She sang on with gentleness and sincerity. “I love you, Teresa. I love you, Pastor Ricky. I love you Nitz.” And as she sang, her dream became a reality. “I love you, Ping.” And the wall started to disappear.

As she was singing throughout the weeks, an amazing thing happened. Lola Nancy realized she was no longer singing alone. Sarah started singing. “I love you, Joy.” And Lorecho started singing “I love you Sarah.” And Teresa started singing. “I love you, Tessie.” Lola Nancy was no longer one lone voice finding it’s way into heaven and into the hearts of the HHCR community….soon, the entire community had watched her sing her song and had learned the simple phrase themselves. And so they sang. And so the walls melted away. And hearts became soft and open – to God and to one another.

And as hearts were softened, unity and trust increased. And God was able to move. He moved in ways no one could have imagined. Relationships were renewed and strengthened and deepened. Personal prayer life grew. God’s presence was real and tangible. No staff was left untouched by the gentle, constant singing of Lola Nancy.
The singing started with a dream. The dream revealed the deep needs of the staff. That discernment can only come from one place, from One person, our Father who is sitting in Heaven, watching over all, waiting for your prayers so that He can move in huge ways.

Your prayers were heard and answered. My prayers were heard and answered. Thank you for praying.
