One of my family’s favorite activities is vacation-planning. Should we go to the beach? To the mountains? Will we fly or drive? What fun things will we do when we get there?
It’s hard for me to believe that there are actually people in our world who make their vacation plans, not according to which location has the best snorkeling or hiking trails, but which has the best commercial sex trade. Even more incredible – which has the best commercial sex trade in children.
Every day, millions of precious, innocent children trapped in the sex trade undergo unspeakable horrors at the hands of strangers “on vacation.”
As a dad and grandfather, I can’t bear to think of the children I love suffering even a skinned knee. My heart breaks and cries out to God for the helpless children who have simply “disappeared” into brothels, where they face physical and emotional degradiation on a daily basis that destroys not only their bodies but also their spirits and souls.

Because of the love and care of friends like you, many of the children who have been brought to Happy Horizon’s Children’s Ranch have found a new life. One of these children whom we affectionately call Mary Grace (not her real name), at the age of 12, quite school on the advice of her dad, who told her to dance at the night club and make money for the family because she was so beautiful. MG never knew that this would begin a life of misery and disgrace.
Thankfully, HHCR was able to rescue MG from that place and she is now on the road to transformation and hope. At first she kept her bags packed thinking she would be returned to the brothel, but now she is too busy with studies, counseling, church and planning for a life of fulfillment and achievement. Currently she is at the safe house and is waiting to be transferred to the Ranch. (We are waiting for an open bed).
