Our young people are under attack issues such as: Peer pressure, Temptations, Assault, Cultural pressures and Family disintegration all turn up the heat. One author noted that, Children and Youth are a major consideration both as a missional focus and also as a partner in mission. They stated, “Children are at the heart of God’s redemptive mission, which reaches their lives and, through them, their families, their communities, and their societies. In God’s mission, children represent a key link in breaking the cycle of poverty, oppression and sin”

Children and God’s Mission, Bustavo Crocker with Karissa Glanville

This is a key concern of all of us at HHCR.
Jesus says it pointedly in, Matthew 25:35-36 (The Message) when speaking of rewards at the end of time,

And here’s why: (the rewards)
I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.’

The first Pastor in Jerusalem stated the same when he said,

James 1:27 (The Message)
Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.
The Royal Rule of Love

You see, God has a heart for

The last…

The least… and

The lost…

Why focus on children and youth?
Sheer demographics.. almost 1 in 2 people are children or youth!

They represent the “open hearts of Asia”

Proverbs 22:6 “train a child while young…”

Even UNICEF speaks of the central role children can play

Jesus puts a “child in the midst” Matt. 18

Cities are a magnet for children & youth

God’s Has A Plan for Children & Youth in Mission Partnership

Let’s look at these five examples from Scripture:

Joseph “an agent of God’s provision”

Samuel “a mouthpiece for God”

David “a liberator for God”

An anonymous kid “a community resource”

Messiah “an incarnational life”

In each of these examples God demonstrates His heart for using people who have a heart connected to Him. We believe in children and youth so much, we know that God has no throw-away children. As a college used to state in their advertisements, “a mind is a terrible thing to waist.”

Please consider helping us as we work along side of our God in reaching this generation.

Come June we will need an additional ten sponsors for college scholarships. Education is a key to advancing the Kingdom. Consider partnering with HHCR and make a donation toward sponsoring a college bound young person.

God bless,

Glenn & Nancy
