This morning we had a funeral service for one of our treasures at the Ranch. He was a great example of the power of the powerless. Totally dependent on our care, he demonstrated a kind of love that comes only from the love of Jesus. We saw the face of Jesus each time we cared for him.
I picked him out of a squalid existence in a small shack in a nieghboring island of Mactan, Cebu. He was six and the doctors told us not to hope for much. He probably would not survive anymore than a couple of weeks. But love had other plans for Jumar and Jesus loaned us him for another sixteen years. He made us better, taught our children unconditional love. The power of the powerless.
