Taxi girls, are little girls who are recruited to provide sex for taxi drivers, Cebu City has thousands of taxis and they use these girls to provide sexual acts during their shifts.
Tuesday of this week we enrolled five of these girls into our program at Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch (we originally thought we would have six, but one ran away with her boyfriend). They are 13 and 14 years old, and very undisciplined. We are currently having them tested, physical exams, many of the girls have STD’s. None of them can read or write although they have a couple years of elementary education.
They have visited the Ranch and agreed along with their family to enroll in our program for at least a year. They are full time residential students. This is significant because they were all on a path to full time prostitution or worse.
